A little of the history of the hotel

Built around the middle of the 16th century near the ancient church of St. John the Baptist, the building plan of which goes back to the beginning of the 14th century, The Eremo was restored in the early 1700’s by the Moncada family.  Having become Lords of Larderia, the latter distinguished themselves by their involvement in both civil and ecclesiastic matters.  Further, they are remembered by their constructions,  such as the Palace elegantly and imposingly built in Renaissance style, and the monumental arch that led out to the gardens of their estate.

The Eremo known as the “Little Convent of Santa Anna”  housed a community of nuns until the mid-1800’s at which time after many floodings it had been eventually reduced to ruins until the present owner marvelously restored it to be utilised as an agritouristic site.
